La Louême is the pottery studio of Evangeline Yates, based on the windy north coast of Saint Mary, where she produces handmade ceramic table wares and unique decorative vessels.

La Louême is Jèrriais, meaning 'The Wave'. Evangeline chose this name because her pottery is continually inspired by the expansive landscape of her island home in Jersey. The rippling tides, undulating lines and contours in the sand, hazy morning mists rolling along the cliffs, and ancient, earthy peat beds.

When making her pottery, Evangeline values simplicity and functionality. Whether storing, eating, drinking or simply enriching a space with their visual presence, each piece is consciously crafted with the purpose and user in mind.

All pieces are unique and handmade using the potter’s wheel or traditional building techniques.
