Little Cross Stitch
Cross stitch has deep roots in European embroidery traditions, dating back to medieval times. Initially, it was a fancy pastime reserved for noblewomen, but over time, it became a household staple for people from all walks of life.
In the 19th century, with the rise of mass production, cross stitch became even more widespread, adorning everything from towels to linens.
Growing up in Jersey, Channel Islands, my childhood home was filled with cross-stitched towels, place mats, and coasters, all thanks to my mum who taught me the art from her Portuguese Madeiran roots. At first, I found these designs a bit old-fashioned, but as I delved deeper into the cross-stitch community, I discovered a whole new world of creativity and the People Cross Stitch inventive that I’m a member of since 2015. It was then that I realised the potential for naughty and cheeky cross stitch designs, and I knew I had to turn this passion into a business.
Inspired by the evolution of cross stitch and the growing demand for unconventional designs, I decided to take the plunge and start my own business. As the first to offer bold and edgy cross stitch creations in Jersey, I'm proud to bring a touch of modern flair to this timeless craft, catering to the diverse tastes of our local community.
