BUTTERFIELD SPONSORS GENUINE JERSEY

Date: 28/05/2024 | Posted by John Garton

Butterfield in Jersey, a local provider of banking and financial services including savings accounts and mortgages, is proud to announce its sponsorship of Genuine Jersey.

As a non-profit organisation, Genuine Jersey promotes talented home-grown artisans, farmers and producers. It celebrates the best in dairy and farm produce, fish and shellfish, sweet treats, beverages, arts and crafts, flowers, plants and jewellery. The distinctive Genuine Jersey logo is a mark of quality and the organisation plays an important role in educating residents and visitors about the benefits of buying local, highlighting the range and diversity of seasonal produce on offer.

The timing of the sponsorship coincides with the recent launch of Butterfield’s credit cards across the Channel Islands, which features a rewards programme with offers from local companies. Butterfield’s credit cards, which are issued from their Guernsey office, are available to Channel Island residents aged 18 and over.

Richard Saunders, Butterfield’s Managing Director of the Channel Islands & UK, said: “This sponsorship is a reflection of our continued commitment to the local community and support of the island’s vibrant economy. As part of our credit card offering, we had actually partnered with a number of Genuine Jersey members and wanted to further build on this by championing the efforts of the organisation at large. Together with Genuine Jersey, we hope to promote the benefits of buying local, which in turn supports local jobs and helps to reduce the island’s carbon footprint.”

John Garton, Chief Executive of Genuine Jersey Products Association, said: “We are delighted to welcome Butterfield onboard as a sponsor member. Their contribution will help us continue to raise awareness of locally produced goods and support all those involved in their production from craft workers to artists and farmers to fishermen.”
