Islanders are being given the opportunity to see an exhibition of local art and crafts at the Harbour Gallery in St Aubins, from 12 – 26 September, organised by Genuine Jersey.
The exhibition celebrates the diverse range of goods which are produced, grown or made in Jersey using local materials and skills and will feature the work of 12 local artists. Featured work will include pottery, wood turning, textiles, photography, furniture, painting and glass art design.
Catherine Vint, merchandising coordinator said, “There is such a wealth of artistic talent in Jersey and this is a fantastic opportunity to show case the skills of our local artists. Although the art and craft on display may be diverse, all the exhibitors use locally sourced material and techniques and will be on hand to discuss their work with Islanders. This is the first time Genuine Jersey members have exhibited their work together and we are hugely excited by the range and quality of the work.”
In addition to the exhibitions, there will also be a series of evening demonstrations using local produce. Demonstrations will start at 6:30pm and pre-booking is recommended.
