Members of the Genuine Jersey Products Association will be kicking off the start of the festival season this weekend (March 27th & 28th) with a display at the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society Spring Show. The Association is planning a high-profile presence at a number of Island events this year to promote the rich diversity and quality of local produce.
GJPA member Stanley Payn, who is one of the largest tomato exporters in the Island, has decorated the Genuine Jersey display with a wide selection of the produce he sells from his farm shop ‘Holme-Grown’ at Fauvic Nurseries in Grouville. The stand includes a selection of pot plants, herbs, tomatoes and salad packs.
Stanley, who supplies tomatoes for Sainsbury’s supermarkets in the United Kingdom, says: “This weekend’s event is the curtain-raiser for a number of fairs and festivals which will showcase the variety of produce which is grown in Jersey throughout the year.
“Not only is it a good opportunity for us to raise the profile of Fauvic Nurseries but it sets the high standards members of the Association will maintain throughout the year.”
The Spring Show will be held at the RJAHS headquarters in Trinity on Saturday, March 27th from 2pm to 8pm and on Sunday March 28th from 10am to 5pm.
The GJPA stand will feature alongside some of the largest names and organisations involved in the Island’s agricultural and gardening industries.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy floral exhibitions by a number of local flower clubs, open garden displays and guided walks.
